May K. Wilcox, 87, of Slater, formerly of Wellsville, died Wednesday, June 20, 2007, at Big Bend Retreat in Slater.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 26, 2007, at Weiker Funeral Home in Slater. Rev. Robert Sisney will officiate. Bethany Weiker, organist will accompany Mary Lee Sisney as she sings "When The Roll Is Called Up Yonder" and "I Won't Have To Cross Jordan Alone." Burial with graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Wellsville City Cemetery with Rev. Glen Swarthout officiating. Pallbearers will be Gene Espenchied, Tim Taylor, Larry Taylor, Steven Scott, Rodney Scott, and John Scott. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at Weiker Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to First Baptist Church in Slater or the Wellsville City Cemetery Association.
Born November 20, 1919, in Wellsville, she was the daughter of the late Ozella Walker and Ernest D. Scott. She married Charlie H. Wilcox on April 16, 1953, in Wellsville. He preceded her in death on August 31, 1994. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Slater. She worked for the telephone company in Wellsville for eight years and served on the Wellsville City Cemetery Association for many years. She resided in Wellsville for most of her life until moving to Slater in 1994.
She is survived by a daughter Kathy Giger of Slater; two granddaughters; a step-great-granddaughter; and two brothers, Emil Scott and Roger Scott, both of Wellsville.
