Kenneth H. Meloy, Sr., 75, of Marshall, formerly of Stover, died Friday, June 1, 2007, at The Living Center in Marshall .
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 5, 2007, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall. William W. Harlow will officiate. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial with military rites will be held at Sunset Gardens Cemetery in Marshall. Pallbearers will be Jeff Meloy, Jimmie Meloy, Sean Pannell, David Bruce, Vince Bruce and Vance Bruce. Memorials may be made to family choice. Online condolences may be sent to www.campbell-lewis.com.
Born May 10, 1932, in Greenville, he was the son of the late Sherman O. Meloy and Hazel Hedge Meloy. He was a 1950 graduate of Patterson High School in Patterson. On Nov. 17, 1977, in Miami, Okla., he married Peggy Reed Coslet, who survives of the home. He had lived at Lake City and Stover until moving to Marshall in 2007. He worked at Lake City Arsenal for 28 years retiring in 1992. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran serving from 1951 to 1955 and was a member of the American Legion and the Buffalo Creek Citizens Patrol in Stover. He was also a member of the Full Gospel Tabernacle in Patterson. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and loved country western music and his dog, Dani.
Additional survivors include one daughter, Joye Christiansen of Rogers, Ark.; two sons, Kenny Meloy Jr. of Sedalia and Donnie Meloy of Sedalia; one step-son, Mike Coslet of Marshall; two step-daughters, Tami Adcock of Napton and Lori Bruce of Bosworth; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; one brother, Jimmy Meloy Sr. of Freeburg; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Peggy Ashton; one grandson, Cody Ashton; two sisters, Eileen Dorrah and Rachel Rubbottom; and one step-granddaughter, Mica Coslet.
