Roy Edward "Ed" Bowlin, 45, of Marshall, formerly of Sweet Springs, died Tuesday, May 29, 2007, at Bothwell Regional Health Center in Sedalia.
Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, June 2, 2007, at First Baptist Church in Sweet Springs. William W. Harlow and Todd Anderson will officiate. Visitation will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Friday at the church. Burial with military rites will be held in Fairview Cemetery in Sweet Springs. Born July 21, 1961, in Barbourville, Ky., he was the son of Don Bowlin of Marshall and Ann Cottongim Bowlin of Arcanum, Ohio. He was a 1980 graduate of Franklin Monroe High School in Pittsburg, Ohio. He had lived in Saline County since 1990, and was a member of the Sweet Springs Volunteer Fire Department, Sweet Springs EMS and was a dispatcher for the Sweet Springs Police Department. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran serving from 1985 to 1991.
Additional survivors include one son, Michael Bowlin of Marshall; three brothers, James Donald Bowlin of Cincinnati, Ohio, Barry Allen Bowlin of Jasper, Ind., and Steven Dean Bowlin of Dayton, Ohio; one sister, Ann Marie Hundley of Arcanum, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
