Charles Terry Plymell, 61, of O'Fallon, Ill., formerly of Kirksville and Marshall, died Friday, May 25, 2007, at Belleville Memorial Hospital in Belleville, Ill.
Cremation. Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 2, 2007, at Schoene-Ruschmeier Funeral Home in Milan. Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. until time of service. A family inurnment service will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday at Winston Cemetery in Winston. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest contribution to his son's education fund.
He was born Oct. 4, 1945, in Marshall, the son of Ival Junior and Katherine Lillian (Carey) Plymell. On Feb. 25, 1966, in Harrison, Ark., he married Willie Lou Martin. He was employed in retail management most of his life. He managed Banner Tire in Kirksville for a number of years and later managed Ben Franklin, Hobby Lobby and Michael's stores until he retired due to failing health. He was a past member of Thousand Hills Corvette Club in Kirksville. He was a Civil War buff, avid NASCAR fan and general sports fan. His interests included rebuilding old cars and reading.
He is survived by one son, Austin Jacob Plymell of the home; two daughters, Kim Oxendale of Milan and Jennifer Goodman of Springfield; four grandchildren; one sister, Sharon Mikels of Pattonsburg; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Larry Plymell.
