Check It Out/Library's annual Summer Reading Program kicks off June 2

Wednesday, May 30, 2007
Along with other changes going on at the library, we are making a change in our Pajama Time story hour, which will now be at 5:30 p.m., rather than 7 p.m. Our thinking is that it may be more convenient for parents to come to the library shortly after work. We read books aloud to the children and have a craft. We look forward to seeing you at the library.

One more stage has been completed in our renovation project. Last week, Priscilla, Andrea, Jacob and I painted the newly remodeled meeting room. Actually, I didn't paint nearly as much as the other three and I was to help Priscilla with the wallpaper border but it turned out to be a one-person job. At any rate, the efforts of the staff members have created a wonderful meeting room. Now all we have to do is hang pictures. The genealogy room is also nearing completion -- a few more shelves and the rest of the boxes can be unpacked. Of course, there's always one room where you shove everything while you are changing things around and our next project will be digging out the room designated as a staff break area.

Saturday, June 2, is the date for our Summer Reading 2007 kick-offs. The preschool/elementary school event is at 10 a.m. and requires parental supervision. The teen event is at 2 p.m.
