Edna Lucille Oertwig, 75, of Chillicothe, died Monday, May 28, 2007, at Heartland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph.

Funeral services will be held Friday, June 1, 2007, at 1:30 p.m. at Lindley Funeral Home in Chillicothe. A family visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home. Friends may call after 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Chillicothe. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society or American Diabetes Association and may be left at the funeral home or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P. O. Box 47, Chillicothe, MO 64601.

She was born Dec. 12, 1931, in Mayview, the daughter of Charles and Ida Mae (Jennings) Heiple. On Dec. 17, 1971, at Chillicothe, she was married to Gilbert Oertwig. He preceded her in death in 1982. She had resided in Chillicothe since 1955, moving from Higginsville. She was a homemaker. She had also worked as a receptionist for Central School as well as a green thumb at the Green Hills Community Action Agency. She worked at Lambert Glove for more than 25 years. She was a member of Highview Baptist Church, Chillicothe.

Survivors include two sons, Robert Ray of Richmond and Jerry Walz and wife, Kim, of Chillicothe; three daughters, Earlene Rinehart and husband, Randy, of Marshall, Linda Prewitt and husband, Jerry, of Savannah and Sherry Martin and husband, Jack, of Herndon, Va.; eight grandchildren, Brian Prewitt of St. Joseph, Adam Prewitt of St. Joseph, Jacci Tonn and her husband, James, of St. Joseph, Angela Driskell of Marshall, Tim Ray and his wife, Kristen, of Richmond, Robert Ray and his wife, Sheila, of Richmond, Kyle Ray of Richmond and Christopher Santee of Charlotte, N.C.; four great-grandchildren; and long-time best friend, Delmore Anderson of Chillicothe.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and three grandchildren.
