Nadine Honeywell, 78, of Slater died Monday, May 28, 2007, at St. Mary's Hospital in Blue Springs.
Funeral services will be Thursday, May 31, at 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Slater. The Rev. Robert Sisney will officiate. Bethany Weiker, organist, will accompany Gerald Gerhard as he sings Amazing Grace and It is Well With My Soul. Burial will be in the Slater city Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Darryl Shippy, Craig Honeywell, Wayne Shippy, Jason Hollingsworth, Harry Whitlock and Stan Hinnah. Visitation will be Thursday, May 31, from 9 to 10 a.m. at the church. Memorials are suggested to Parkinsons Research or Calvary Baptist Church Building Fund in Odessa in care of Weiker Funeral Home in Slater.
Born Nov. 12, 1928 in Saline County, she was the daughter of the late Raymond E. and Geneva Harris Coleman. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Slater and its Willing Workers Sunday school class. She previously served as a member of the church choir. She was a lifelong Saline County resident until recently moving to Odessa.
She is survived by a son, Leo Honeywell of Independence; a daughter, Sharon Shippy of Odessa; four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; a brother, Ralph E. Coleman of Dexter and a sister, Valda Coleman of Slater.
