Norman R. Depue, 55, of Slater, died Saturday, May 19, 2007, on Highway 87 south of Glasgow, from injuries suffered in a two-car accident.
Funeral services will be Friday, May 25, 2007, at 6:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Slater. Rev. Robert Sisney will officiate. Cremation will follow the services. Visitation will be held Friday from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the church. Memorials are suggested to the charity of the donor's choice, in care of Weiker Funeral Home in Slater.
Born Aug. 25, 1951, in Pittsburg, Kan., he was the son of the late Chester E. and Nellie Mae Tittle Depue. In January 1998, he married Betty J. Barnes; she survives of the home. He was a U. S. Army veteran of the Vietnam era. He was a correctional officer at Boonville Corrections Center and had worked for several years prior at Marshall Habilitation Center.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Robert Depue of St. Louis; two daughters, Beth and Nicole; five stepchildren, Catherine Bland of Farmington, Kimberly Shields of Slater, Christopher Shields of Bosworth, Aaron Ross of Marshall and Shelby Breshears of Marshall; two grandchildren; two brothers, Harley Depue of Slater and David Depue of Cherokee, Kan.; a sister, Rosetta Heathman of Redding, Kan., and a foster brother, Harold Rossman of Slater.
