Dorothy A. Johnson, 94, of Slater, died Wednesday, May 23, 2007, at Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall.
Funeral services will be Sunday, May 27, 2007, at 2:30 p.m., at First Baptist Church in Slater. Rev. Robert Sisney will officiate. Bethany Weiker, organist, will accompany Gerald Gerhard as he sings "It Is Well With My Soul" and "My Jesus, I Love Thee." Burial will be in Slater City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be David Jones, Don Boyd, Ron McCoy, Craig McCoy, Gene Holt and Harry Whitlock. Visitation will be from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the church. Memorials are suggested to the church or to Fitzgibbon Hospital Cancer Center, in care of Weiker Funeral Home in Slater.
Born Feb. 23, 1913, north of Slater, she was the daughter of the late George and Essie Dulaney Johnson. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Slater and its Willing Workers Sunday School class. She worked at the Rice Stix factory in Slater and International Shoe factory in Marshall, before retiring from Marshall Habilitation Center.
She is survived by a sister, Anna Rhoades of Slater; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
