Bertha M. Lyddon, 88, of Lee's Summit, formerly of Marshall, died Wednesday, May 16, 2007, at St. Luke's East Lee's Summit.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 19, 2007, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall. Rev. Wayne Doolin will officiate. Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund in Marshall. Born May 12, 1919, in Sweet Springs, she was the daughter of the late Perry Alfrey Pannell and Mary May Jordan Pannell. On April 8, 1939, she married John I. "Shorty" Lyddon Sr., who preceded her in death on Feb. 9, 1985. She had lived in Marshall her entire life moving to Lee's Summit in 2005. She was owner/operator of the House of Flowers in Marshall and a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Linda Lawless and husband, David, of Platte City and Barbara Brownlee and husband, Richard, of Olathe, Kan.; one son, John I. Lyddon Jr. and wife, Linda, of Lee's Summit; six grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Catherine McGurk of Kansas City and Willie Jane McQuitty of Sedalia; and several nieces and nephews.
