Ruth Bierbaum, 88, of Grand Pass, died Thursday, May 10, 2007, at Shirkey Leisure Acres in Richmond.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 15, 2007, at St. Luke United Church of Christ, Grand Pass, with Reverend William Nagy officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Nebo Cemetery, Grand Pass. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until service time at the church on Tuesday. The family suggests contributions be made to St. Luke United Church of Christ in her memory. She was born March 23, 1919, in Grand Pass, the daughter of Henry W. and Talitha Arensmeyer Uthlaut. She graduated from Grand Pass High School. On May 31, 1946, she married Elmer Bierbaum. He preceded her in death on Dec. 17, 1973. She worked at the Marshall Rehabilitation Center as a psychiatric aide for 30 years, retiring in 1990. She was a member of St. Luke United Church of Christ in Grand Pass and the Women's Fellowship. She was the organist there for well over fifty years.
Survivors include one daughter, Christena Windmeyer and husband, Keith, of Grand Pass; three grandsons, Heath, Shawn and Lance Christie; two step-grandchildren, Tiffany and Bryan Windmeyer; and five great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Esther Fizer; one half-sister, Gertrude Koch; and two half-brothers, Walter and Clarence Uthlaut.
