Marshall police were dispatched to U.S. 65 Highway and West Vest Street at about 12:47 p.m. Wednesday, May 9, for a traffic crash involving two vehicles.

A 1995 Oldsmobile Cutlass Cierra traveling west on West Vest Street, driven by Daniel H. Anderson, 78, of Marshall, apparently pulled into the path of a 1993 Jeep Cherokee traveling south on U.S. 65 Highway Bypass, driven by Shannon C. Frauenhoffer, 22, of Marshall, and was struck, according to police.

Anderson was transported to Fitzgibbon Hospital by Saline County Ambulance and later transferred to University of Missouri-Columbia Hospital and Clinics by helicopter.

Frauenhoffer was not injured and both drivers were wearing safety devices, police said.
