Charlene Payne, 69, of Boonville, died Friday, May 4, 2007, at Cooper County Memorial Hospital in Boonville.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 12, 2007, at St. Matthew A.M.E. Church in Boonville, with Rev. Horace Hopkins officiating. Burial will be in Salt Fork Cemetery in Nelson. Friends may call from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday at H. T. May and Son Funeral Home in Boonville.
She was born June 15, 1937, in Hayti, the daughter of Lummie David and Annie Bell Thomas. She was a former member of the Morgan St. Baptist Church and attended St. Matthew A.M.E. Church. She was a member of the Teach and Saw sewing club in Boonville and formerly a member of Family Affair Social Club.
Survivors include one son, Vernon Payne of Boonville; one stepson, Charles White of Raytown; one daughter, Jennifer Payne-Rowles of O'Fallon; one stepdaughter, Reatta Fayne of Marshall; one brother, Charles McFadden of Madison, Wis.; three sisters, Opra Payne, Cynthia Taylor and Beulah Abraham, all of Boonville.
