Sheriff's deputies investigate burglary, truck theft from rural Marshall home

Friday, May 4, 2007
Saline County sheriff's deputies are investigating a possible burglary and vehicle theft after a rural Marshall man reported a break-in at his home and said his white 1999 Ford F-250 four-wheel drive pickup truck was missing.

Jerry Wilder told deputies Wednesday, May 2, that he came home to discover a pillow case containing several items on the floor in his home. He also discovered that other items were missing from the home, including a number of firearms, according to the deputies' report.

The sheriff's department issued a nationwide bulletin about the missing vehicle. The license number on the truck is Mo. 596220, according to the report.

At Wilder's residence deputies said they found a four-door Oldsmobile with license plate Mo. 684ZAZ that had been reported stolen earlier the same day from a gas station at Marshall Junction.
