Anna B. (Reddick) Walker, 86, of Kansas City, MO, passed away Friday, April 20, 2007, at her home. Services will be Monday, April 30, at 11 a.m. at Second Baptist Church, 39th and Monroe, Kansas City, MO, burial in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Mission or the Day Circle at Second Baptist Church, 3620 East 39th Street, KCMO.
Anna was born to Ran Reddick and Flora Haze Reddick in Alma, Missouri, on January 8, 1921. She lived in Kansas City most of her life. Her parents, her twin sister, Lula Searcy, and her sister and brother, Elsie Graves and Eldon Reddick, preceded Anna in death. She is survived by her sisters, Mary Washington of Marshall, MO, and Ester Vinson of Topeka, KS; her nieces, Janice Graham, Teresa Boldridge, Rachael Boldridge, Sharon Lewis and Charita Warren all of Topeka, KS; her nephews, Leon Boldridge of Chula Vista, California, Robert Searcy, California, Steve Reddick and Carey Vinson of Topeka, KS, Thomas Washington of Marshall, MO, and Alphonso Washington of Richmond, MO; and many great nieces and nephews.
For many years Anna was the beloved and loyal housekeeper for Nancy and Ben Embry and was adored by her "children," Ben T. Embry Jr., Frederick A. Embry and Nancy Embry Thiessen, whom she referred to as "Tarzy, Freddie and Sunshine."
