CASA, in partnership with Parents as Teachers, will host a "Color 4 CASA" coloring contest and an infant seat safety inspection on April 28 from noon to 4 p.m. at the Marshall Wal-Mart Supercenter parking lot.
The coloring contest, which has a theme of "What I Like About My Home," is open to all children from Kindergarten through fourth grade. CASA officials ask contestants to bring art no larger than 11- by 14-inches to Wal-Mart on the day of the contest.
Artists can use colored markers, pens and pencils to win age-appropriate prizes. For more information on the contest call the CASA offices at (660) 886-5779 or e-mail casarobin@yahoo.com.

CASA volunteers believe every children has the right to a loving, nurturing home. The CASA program staff recruits, trains and motivates citizen volunteers from all walks of life to be the "voice for the child" in court.
CASA's mission is to help every child suffering from abuse or neglect to find a safe, stable and permanent home within 15 to 22 months of becoming wards of the juvenile court.
CASA also announced the return of Stacie Arends as the part-time volunteer coordinator. Arends returns to the program which now consists of one executive director (Robin McGinnity Connelly) one full-time volunteer coordinator (Leo Grothaus) and one part-time executive assistant (Linda Yallay). CASA officials said that they were excited to have Arends back and look forward to her help training new CASA volunteers in Saline County starting June 21, 2007. She joins 19 CASA volunteers who serve the needs of 37 children.
