Viola Christina Weekley, 77, of Marshall, died Wednesday, April 4, 2007, at Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 7, 2007, at Sweeney-Reser-Wills Funeral Home in Marshall, with the Rev. Claude Fields officiating. Organist Lois Lindenmeyer will accompany soloist Mike Bailey for "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Amazing Grace." Pallbearers will be James Elmore, Bobby Green, Bill Weekley, Jon Weekley, Martin Weekley Jr. and Roy Weekley. Honorary pallbearers will be Mark Green Jr., Scott Morris, James Scarborough Jr., Dennis Weekley and Nicklaus Weekley. Interment will be at Old LamIne Cemetery in Cooper County. Memorials may be made to Marshall Baptist Temple.

She was born Aug. 12, 1929, in Cooper County, the daughter of the late Morris H. and Henrietta Gibson Schuster. She was married to Calvin L. Green, who preceded her in death. She then married Martin L. Weekley on May 18, 1980, in Marshall; he survives of the home. She was a resident of the Marshall and Blackwater areas for most of her life. She was employed at International Shoe for 26 years and the Marshall Habilitation Center for 10 years before her retirement. She was a member of Marshall Baptist Temple.

Survivors include two sons, Calvin S. Green and Mark A. Green, both of Marshall; four daughters, Linda L. Gibson, Tina L. Scarborough, and Carolyn Urias, all of Marshall, and Janice A. Smith of Tucson, Ariz.; five stepsons, Martin L. Weekley Jr. of Kansas City, William E. Weekley of Helena, Mont., Roy D. Weekley and Dennis W. Weekley, both of Marshall and Sam J. Bradshaw of Boone, Iowa; three stepdaughters, Susan J. Sheck of Oak Ridge, Tenn., Sally A. Weekley of Kansas City and Sharon K. Robinson of Columbia; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

In addition to her first husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, one son, and two grandchildren.
