Wilma J. (Dennis) Castle, 77, of rural Marshall, died Sunday, April 1, 2007, at Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 4, 2007, at St. Peter Catholic Church in Marshall. Fr. Kevin Gormley will officiate. Prayer service will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall, with visitation following from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Burial will be held in Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall. Born Nov. 30, 1929, in Marshall, she was the daughter of the late William Henry Dennis and Grace Willis Dennis. On Oct. 12, 1947, she married Robert E. Castle, who preceded her in death on Dec. 21, 2004. She had lived in Saline County her entire life and was a 1947 graduate of Slater High School. She was a homemaker and co-owner/operator of the family farm for many years. She was also a bookkeeper for many years for Missouri Valley Physicians, retiring in 1995, and then worked part-time at Community Bank for 10 years. She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, its Altar and Rosary Society having served as president and treasurer and was a 50-year member of Daughters of Isabella. She attained the Lifemaster ranking in the American Contract Bridge League, was a member of Chapter JS of PEO, Monday Club and delivered Meals On Wheels.
Survivors include two daughters, Sharon Kaye Barlow of Gladstone and Rebecca S. Cramer and husband, David, of Marshall; one son, Robert D. Castle and wife, Janell, of Shackelford; four grandchildren, Heather Carson, Dr. Justin Cramer and wife, Brooke, Sara Castle and Michael Castle; and five great-grandchildren, Kody, Kristopher, Clayton, Hannah and Alex.
