Gerald E. Preuit, 69, of Canal Fulton, Ohio, formerly of Marshall, died Tuesday, March 20, 2007, at Aultman Hospital in Canton, Ohio.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 30, 2007, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall. Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Sunset Gardens Cemetery in Marshall. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Fitzgibbon-Mary Montgomery Hospice. Online condolences may be sent to www.campbell-lewis.com.
He was born Dec. 20, 1937, in Marshall, the son of the late Elmer "Swede" Preuit and Edna Bakert Preuit. He was a graduate of Marshall High School, attended Missouri Valley College for one semester, and received a business degree from Texas Tech in Lubbock, Texas. He then was employed by Bridgestone-Firestone in Akron. He received a Bachelor of Science degree from Akron University and became corporate accountant for Bridgestone-Firestone, retiring after 30 years of service. On Dec. 21, 1990, he married Charlene Zenisek, who survives of the home. He was a U.S. Navy veteran serving as an Aviation Storekeeper 3rd class from November of 1961 to August of 1966.
Additional survivors include two daughters, Lori Dorer of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Lisa Robinson of Canal Fulton, Ohio; and three grandchildren.
