Helen A. Bossaller, 97, of Gilliam, died Friday, March 23, 2007, at Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall.
Funeral services were held Monday, March 26, 2007 at 4 p.m. at Gilliam Baptist Church. Rev. Mike Blackwood officiated. Soloist Diane Blackwood was accompanied by Bethany Weiker, organist, as she sang "How Great Thou Art," and "Amazing Grace." Pallbearers were George Fletcher, Gary Vincent, Jerry East, Bill Meyer, Harold Bossaller and Charlie Guthrie. Memorials are suggested to Big Bend Retreat in care of Weiker Funeral Home in Slater.
Born Jan. 12, 1910, in Saline County, she was the daughter of the late Ira E. and Flossie Haynes Pugh. On Feb. 13, 1930, in Marshall, she married Russell Bossaller; he preceded her in death on June 8, 1992.
She was a member of Gilliam Baptist Church. She was also a member of Gilliam Extension Club and the 42 club. She was a lifelong Gilliam area resident.
She is survived by four daughters, Nancy Berlekamp of Slater, Peggy Donohew of Sedalia, Carol Bossaller of Anderson and Betty Jean Thompson of Porterville, Calif.; four granddaughters; seven great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Ruth Pugh of Slater.
She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Dixie Lee.
