Clothing has much to say about the people it covers. As Carolyn Miller said at a vintage clothing show in June at the First Baptist Church, "Fashion is a reflection of what's going on in the country."

So those who wish to learn about the women of Saline County's past will have a great opportunity during the Marshall Habilitation Center's Women's History Month celebration.

The featured event this year will be a period fashion display at the Tudor House on the MHC campus.

Costumes will be on display from women who lived in the Saline County area dating back to the 1800s.

The show will also feature Fran Robison's collection, The Victorian Ladies, 36-inch porcelain ladies in authentic recreated costumes from 1860 through 1915.

Books will also be available during the shows, with proceeds from sales going to support the Fitzgibbon Hospital Cancer Center Capital Campaign.

The show will be open Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from March 9 though March 25. Times on Fridays will be 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Times on Saturdays and Sundays will be 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The show is free and open to the public.

History of a more recent kind will be featured when Air Force Staff Sgt. Felicia Haecker will give a presentation on her work as a military photographer.

Haecker documents historical military events that take place on and around Whiteman Air Force Base, capturing the day to day activities of military personnel performing their duties, according to organizers of the event.

Haecker's presentation will take place Thursday, March 15, at 1:30 p.m. in the Spainhower conference room on the MHC campus and is open to the public.
