Corine M. Olson, 97, of Slater, died Thursday, March 1, 2007, at Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall.
Funeral services were held Monday, March 5, at 11 a.m. at Slater United Methodist Church. Rev. Jess Spurgin officiated. Organist Bethany Weiker accompanied soloist Heather Usnick for "How Great Thou Art," and "One Day at a Time." Burial was in Slater City Cemetery. Pallbearers were Robert Usnick, Christopher White, Jeff Usnick, Keith Bishop, Colin Vaillancourt and Tom Usnick Jr.. Steve Usnick was an honorary pallbearer. Visitation was held from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the church. Memorials are suggested to the church or to Butterfield Youth Services in care of Weiker Funeral Home in Slater.
Born Oct. 11, 1909, in Trail, Okla., she was the daughter of the late James C. and Bertha Benear Murray. On Feb. 18, 1928, in Olathe, Kan., she married Clarence A. Olson; he preceded her in death on June 28, 1997. She was retired from Sealright, Inc., in Kansas City after 27 years of service. She lived in Kansas City for many years before retiring to Shell Knob. She moved to Slater in 1997 from Shell Knob.
She is survived by a daughter, Barbara Usnick, and her husband, Tom, of Slater; a son, Clarence A. "Bud" Olson Jr., and his wife, Betty, of Lady Lake, Fla.; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Marsh Murray and James Randall Murray.
