Ruth A. Gastineau, 59, of Slater, died Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2007, at her home.
Funeral services will be Friday, March 2, 2007, at 10:30 a.m. at First Baptist church in Slater. Rev. Robert Sisney will officiate. Bethany Weiker, organist, will accompany soloist Matthew Norton for "Precious Lord, Take My Hand" and "Amazing Grace." Burial will be in Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall. Pallbearers will be Gerald Kitchen, Sam Krog, Michael Witt, Cameron Gastineau, Brad Gastineau and Neal Harman. Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. at Weiker Funeral Home in Slater. Memorials are suggested to First Baptist Church in Slater.
She was born Nov. 20, 1947, in Carrollton, the daughter of the late Willie A. and Edith Owens Willis. On Feb. 2, 1970, in Carrollton, she married Donald L. Gastineau, who survives of the home. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Slater. She was employed at GE Energy in Slater and was a longtime Slater resident.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Brad Gastineau of Marshall and Cameron Gastineau of Kansas City; a daughter, Pamela Witt of Bolivar; six grandchildren; two brothers, Jim Willis of St. Joseph and Zeke Willis of Carrollton; and four sisters, Martha McBroom of Alma, Ark., Donna Bartlett of Carrollton, Glenda Elliott of Carrollton and Shirley Clark of Bosworth.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Billy Willis, and an infant daughter, Sharla Lynn.
