Joseph W. Twilling, 83, of Marshall, died Saturday, Feb. 24, 2007, at The Living Center in Marshall.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 1, 2007, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall. Fr. Kevin Gormley and the Rev. Mr. Richard Luebbering will officiate. Prayer services will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall with visitation following from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Burial will be held in Sunset Gardens Cemetery in Marshall. Born Aug. 19, 1923, in Marshall, he was the son of the late Joseph William Twilling Sr. and Louise Marie Burgard Twilling. In 1971, he married Betty J. Wyrick Epperson, who survives. He had lived in Marshall most of his life, was a graduate of Mercy Academy and a member of St. Peter Catholic Church. He was a meat cutter and had also been a real estate agent. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of World War II.
Additional survivors include four sons, Bob Twilling and wife, Mary Ann, of Tucson, Ariz., Tom Twlling of Kansas City, Gary Twilling of Alma and John Twilling of St. Louis; one daughter JoAnn Graham of Marshall; two stepdaughters, Pam Rieves and husband, Kevin, of Marshall and Linda Brown and husband, David, of rural Marshall; one stepson, Keith Epperson and wife, Mary Kay, of Muscatine, Iowa; 23 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; one brother, Art Twilling of Marshall; three sisters, Dottie Odell of Blue Springs, Jean Weinrich of Harrisonville and Mary Lou Paxton of Marshall Junction; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one son, Terry Twilling and one brother, Roy Twilling.
