Jean Ella Napier, 80, of Marshall, died Saturday, Feb. 17, 2007, at The Living Center.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Mount Olive Baptist Church in Marshall, with Rev. I.B.S. Groves officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Friends may call from 10 a.m. Thursday until time of services at the church. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of H. T. May and Son Funeral Home of Marshall.
She was born Jan. 1, 1927, in Palmyra, the daughter of Tanzie and Anna Glenn Mason. She was a member of the Mount Olive Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir. She was married to John P. Napier, who preceded her in death on Dec. 22, 1976.
Survivors include five daughters, Katherine Van Buren of Marshall, Barbara Napier of Marshall, Gloria Collins of Kansas City, Deborah Fleming of Columbia, and Ruth Napier of San Diego, Calif.; a sister, Beatrice Huston of Marshall; a brother, Henry Mason; eight grandchildren; and seven seven great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers; a sister; and a son.
