Olive Sloan, 95, of Marshall, died Monday, Feb. 19, 2007, at home.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 22, 2007, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall. William W. Harlow will officiate. Visitation will be held from 1to 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall. Pallbearers will be Tom Sloan, Steven Sloan, Michael Sloan, Scott Sloan, Jeremy Sloan and Chad Surface. Memorials may be made to American Legion Post 191 or V.F.W. Post 2646 in Marshall. Born Feb. 15, 1912, in Marshall, she was the daughter of the late Harvey William Bear and Ada Ellen Bowen Bear. On Aug. 14, 1934, she married Rex Sloan, who preceded her in death on Nov. 14, 1991. She had lived in Marshall her entire life and was a homemaker. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Marshall.

Survivors include three sons, Ronald L. Sloan of Whitt, Texas, Larry R. Sloan of Marshall and Todd Sloan of rural Marshall; seven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two grandsons; two brothers; and six sisters.
