Quail Unlimited banquet scheduled for March 10 at Saline County Fairground

Tuesday, February 13, 2007

The Gary Pointer Memorial Chapter of Quail Unlimited will hold its 17th annual banquet at 6 p.m. Saturday, March 10, at the Saline County Fairground.

The event includes a dinner and auction which raises money for the organization's projects. Last year, $7,500 was raised to help fund local quail habitat projects. The organization receives matching funds from the Missouri Department of Conservation as well.

The dinner and silent auction will be followed by a live auction featuring original woodworking items, a scrimshaw powder horn, a one-of-a-kind handmade knife, a decoy by Donnie Nichols, an original oil painting by Sue Hall and four different hunts, including a youth hunt.

Seating will be limited to the first 190, so reservations should be posted by Feb. 21. Membership is $30. Membership and dinner for one is $40 and membership and dinner for two is $50. Sponsorship is $240.

Reservations can be mailed to Gary R. Pointer Memorial Chapter of Quail Unlimited, P.O. Box 3, Marshall, Mo. 65340.
