Nancy Simmons Miller, 78, of Gilliam, formerly of Marshall, died Thursday, Feb. 8, 2007, at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2007, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall. Rev. Chris Weber and William W. Harlow will officiate. Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Sunset Gardens Cemetery in Marshall. Pallbearers will be Jim Merchant, Jerry Whitaker, Damien Riley, Bob Simmons, Harold Ray Simmons and Shawn Schell. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church in Gilliam. Born Jan. 16, 1929, in Hickory County, she was the daughter of the late George D. Simmons Sr. and Sylvia Pummill Simmons. On June 28, 1947, in Sedalia, she married St. Clair Louis Miller who preceded her in death on March 29, 1997. She had lived in Gilliam since 1997, previously living in Mexico and Marshall. She retired from International Shoe Company after 20 years and was a homemaker. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Gilliam and A.A.R.P.
Survivors include one daughter, Mary Elizabeth Campbell and husband, Dwain, of Higginsville; one son, George Louis Miller and wife, Shelly, of Gilliam; four grandchildren, Christopher Louis Miller, Austin Wade Miller, Darrell Dwain Campbell and Hunter Michelle Miller; five great-grandchildren, Nicholas Clayton Ford, Kourtney Lee Serno, Hunter Dwain Campbell, Carley Christine Ford and Madison Elisabeth Ford; two brothers, George D. Simmons Jr. of Marshall and Carl Simmons of Marshall; two sisters, Lucy Huesgen of Concordia and Carol Irene Johns of Rolla; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.
