Verna Mae Cromley, 81, of Kansas City, formerly of Marshall, died Saturday, Feb. 3, 2007, at New Mark Care Center in Kansas City.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2007, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall. William W. Harlow will officiate. Visitation will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall. Memorials may be made to Northcare Hospice. Born July 17, 1925, in Sweet Springs, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Pygman and Mamie Tofflemire Pygman. On June 17, 1950, she married Harold D. Cromley, who preceded her in death on March 21, 2004. She had lived in Marshall most of her life and was a member of First Christian Church. She had worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company, Marshall Public Schools and Wal-Mart.
Survivors include two daughters, Jeanie Vinson and husband, Darrell, of Gladstone and Lisa Cowart and husband, Ross, of Kansas City; one son, Ronald Cromley and wife, Charity, of Blue Springs; six grandsons; two granddaughters, one great-granddaughter; one sister, Shirley Carpenter of Sylvania, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, John Pygman.
