Melvin C. Keehart, 89, of rural Miami, died Friday, Feb. 2, 2007, at The Living Center in Marshall.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2007, at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Marshall. Rev. Douglas A. Dubisar will officiate. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Burial will be in Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall. Born Jan. 20, 1918, in Marshall, he was the son of the late Carl S. Keehart and Clara E. Christman Keehart. On Aug. 16, 1941, he married Olga Mae Jones, who preceded him in death on Oct. 7, 2003. He had lived in Saline County most of his life and was a farmer and cattleman. He was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church and the Missouri Angus Association.
Survivors include one daughter, Betty Ann Wyse and husband, Ron, of Jefferson City; one son, Wayne Keehart and wife, Judi, of rural Miami; five grandchildren, Steven Martin, Patrick Martin, Gary Keehart, Elizabeth Kennon and Jonathon Keehart; four great-grandchildren; one sister, Ruth Marsh of Marshall; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one sister, Flora Campbell.
