Travis R. Wright, 27, of Slater, died Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2007, at Fitzgibbon Hospital, as the result of injuries suffered in an automobile accident.
Funeral services will be Saturday, Feb. 3, 2007, at 11 a.m. at Slater United Methodist Church. Rev. Mark Hass will officiate. Organist Bethany Weiker will accompany soloist Eva Hill singing "Beyond the Sunset." She will also accompany the congregation in singing "Rock of Ages," "Thine Forever, God of Love," and "I am Jesus' Little Lamb." Burial will be in Slater City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tom Martin, Gary Wright, Wayne Wright, Daniel Morton, Steven Ross and Richard Miller. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. Saturday until the time of services at the church. Memorials are suggested to Fitzgibbon Hospital Cancer Center, in care of Weiker Funeral Home in Slater.
He was born July 6, 1979, in Fayette. He was the son of Riley Walter Wright and Dora Butcher Wright, who survive of the home. He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Slater and its voters' assembly. He was employed as a dispatcher with the Saline County Sheriff's Department and the City of Slater.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his brother, Jared Wright, of the home; his maternal grandmother, Lillie Hackett of Waverly; and numerous cousins, aunts and uncles.
