Mitchell S. Wooden, 45, of Higginsville, died Sunday, Jan. 28, 2007, at University Hospital, Columbia.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2007, at 2:30 p.m., at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Higginsville, Pastor Marcus Jauss officiating. Marilyn Boeschen, organist, will accompany soloist Sandy Starkebaum. Burial will be in City Cemetery, Higginsville. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Hoefer Funeral Home in Higginsville. Pallbearers are Merle Mosley, Larry Parsons, Tony Whittorn, Gary West, Shawn Graham, Brian Smith, Wayne Kirchner and Jim Clark. Memorials are suggested to Immanuel Lutheran Church or the Mitchell S. Wooden Scholarship Fund.
He was born Nov. 17, 1961, in Lexington, the son of Anna Ruth Kessler Wooden and the late David Lewis Wooden. He married Kathy S. Redhage on June 20, 1989; she survives of the home. He lived in the Higginsville area all of his life. He had worked as a farmer and for United Building Center in Blue Springs since 1995 as a yardman and driver.
Additional survivors include brothers, Steven H. Wooden and his wife, Debbie, of Alma, formerly of Marshall and Mark J. Wooden and his wife, Brenda, of Higginsville; three sisters, Bonnie Heinze and her husband, Paul, of Louisville, Ky., Barbara Tye and her husband, Jim, of Warrensburg and Beth Wooden of Kansas City.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brother, D. Wayne Wooden.
