Ellis Adams, 84, of Marshall, died Sunday, Jan. 21, 2007, at Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 25, 2007, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall. Rev. Bob Shephard will officiate. Visitation will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial with military rites will be held at Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall. Born July 17, 1922, in Pondfork, he was the son of the late James L. Adams and Mary Ann Hackler Adams. On Oct. 27, 1944, he married Freeda Hardcastle, who survives of the home. He had been a resident of Mar-Saline Manor the last two years, and had lived in Marshall since 1945, moving from Longrun. He had worked for 40 years at International Shoe Company prior to his retirement. He was a U. S. Navy veteran of world War II.
In addition to his loving wife of 62 years, he is survived by one daughter, JoAnn DeGraffenreid of Olathe, Kan.; one son, Tom Adams of rural Sedalia; four grandsons; three great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Opal Parcels of Marshall, Mona Vogl of Marshall and Ollis Ruhe of Marshall.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.
