Elsie A. Walker, 88, of rural Marshall, died Friday, Jan. 19, 2007, at University Hospital and Clinics in Columbia.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2007, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall. Chris Harper will officiate. Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Nelson Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Brandon Walker, Monte Ellis, Danny Walker, Gale Cornine, Carl Wilson and Clyde Harper. Memorials may be made to Nelson Cemetery or Blue Lick Cemetery. Born June 8, 1918, in Blue Lick, she was the daughter of the late Charles Clayton Taylor Sr. and Alice Mounts Taylor. She married William Henry Walker, who preceded her in death on Feb. 23, 1955. She had lived in Saline County her entire life and retired from the Marshall State School and Hospital. She attended the Church of Christ in Blackwater.
Survivors include two sons, Gary Lee Walker of rural Napton and William Alan Walker of Sweet Springs; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one sister, Nellie Margaret Taylor of Sweet Springs.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one great-granddaughter and one brother.
