Clifford Medcalf, 80, of Marshall, died Saturday, Jan. 13, 2007, at Golden Oaks in rural Marshall.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 18, 2007, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel, with William W. Harlow officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Fitzgibbon-Mary Montgomery Hospice or Fitzgibbon Cancer Center. Born Feb. 3, 1926, in Buffalo, he was the son of the late Lon Medcalf and Mamie Gamel Medcalf. He had lived in Marshall most of his life and on July 13, 1945, he married Betty Reeves, who survives of Marshall. He had worked for Saline County Highway Department, Marshall Special Road District and MFA Seed Division.
Additional survivors include five daughters, Delores Simonin and husband, Ken, of Oak Grove, Sharon Crawford and husband, Don, of Marshall, Beverly Simmons and husband, Bob, of Marshall, Mae Wilder and husband, Butch, of Marshall, Sandy Harlin and husband, Randy, of Marshall; two sons, Ron Medcalf and wife, Jewell, of Marshall, Carl Medcalf and Liz Wright of Buffalo; 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; one brother, Omer Medcalf of Wichita, Kan.; three sisters, Winona Kahler of Springfield, Bessie Ward of Springfield, and Hazel Nicodemus of Springfield; along with several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother in infancy.
