Birdie Mae Woods, 64, of Marshall, died Saturday, Jan. 13, 2007, at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 18, 2007, at Handy Chapel A.M.E. Church in Marshall. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the H. T. May and Son Funeral Home in Marshall.

She was born July 23, 1942, in Marshall, the daughter of Lelon and Beulah Bell Allen. She was a teacher's aide at Prairie View School and she also worked at the Center for Human Services. She was a member of the Handy Chapel A.M.E. Church.

Survivors include two sons, Gerald Woods of Marshall and Dean Woods of Marshall; three daughters, Doreen Woods of Marshall, Loreen Jacobs of Marshall and Valerie Woods of Marshall; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George Woods; one son, Daniel Woods; and one grandchild.
