Minnie Alice Marsh, 99, of Marshall, died Friday, Jan. 5, 2007, at Big Bend Retreat in Slater.
Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 11, 2007, at Mt. Olive Cemetery near Marshall. Rev. Randy Shannon will officiate. Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Christopher Marsh and Brent Marsh, and great-grandsons, Benjamin Marsh, Aaron Marsh, William Marsh and Thomas Marsh. Memorials may be made to Mt. Born Oct. 23, 1907, in Saline County, she was the daughter of the late Warren A. Smith and Minnie Alice Caldwell Smith. On Aug. 7, 1928, in Saline County, she married John Lester Marsh, who preceded her in death on June 24, 1990. She moved to Cherokee Village, Ark., in 1969 from rural Marshall, returning to Marshall in 1999. She was a graduate of Boonville High School and a 1954 graduate of Missouri Valley College. She was a retired school teacher having taught for 40 years and was a homemaker. She was a member of Spring River Presbyterian Church in Hardy, Ark., and the Cherokee Village Indian Lions Club Auxiliary.
Survivors include one son, Charles Warren Marsh and wife, Ruth, of Marshall; two grandsons, Christopher Marsh and wife, Denise, and Brent Marsh and wife, Leslie; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, W. Luther Smith, Gervas P. Smith and Walton A. Smith; and two sisters, Mary Bramble and Maude Nixon.
