Dorothy M. Osborne, 84, of Independence, died Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2006.
A Celebration of Life in honor of Dorothy was held from 11 a.m. to noon on Monday, Nov. 20, 2006, at Mt. Washington Forever Mausoleum Chapel. Entombment at the Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Alzheimer's Association. Arrangements were handled by Mt. Washington Forever Funeral Home, Independence.
She was born in Blackwater on March 3, 1922, the daughter of John William and Stella Mae Edson Larkin. She graduated from Blackwater schools. She worked as a teller for Farmer's Stock Bank in Blackwater and in the parts department at Singer Sewing in Kansas City. She married R. M. Osborne in 1947; he survives of the home.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by one son, T. Drake Osborne; one daughter, Janet Kent; two grandchildren; a sister, Anna Marie Nowlin of Blackwater; and a brother, W. T. Larkin of Hermitage.
She was preceded in death by her parents and by an infant daughter, Tyra.
