Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 23, 2006, at the First Baptist Church in Marshall. Dr. N. Paul Callahan will officiate. Friends may call Friday at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall. Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church. Burial will be in Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall. Pallbearers will be George Robert Clemens, Richard L. Clemens, Robert Jennings Clemens, Todd Newport, Gary Newport and Don Babylon. Honorary pallbearers will be Eddie Newport and Marty Smith. Born June 8, 1914, in Marshall, he was the oldest son of the late Robert Clemens and Lillian Clough Clemens. He was a 1932 graduate of Marshall High School and attended the University of Missouri at Columbia. On May 6, 1944, he married Grace Newport, who survives of the home. After a brief career as a truck driver, he began farming in Miami, with his brother, Billy. In 1962, he moved to the Clemens Century Farm south of Marshall where he lived until his death. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Marshall.
Additional survivors include one daughter, Raydene Moulton and husband, Russel, of Glenwood, Iowa; one grandson, David Morgan of Bellevue, Neb.; one brother, Billy Clemens and wife, Myrl, of Marshall; and four nephews, George Clemens and wife, Betty; Billy Lee Clemens and wife, Vanesa; Richard Clemens and wife, Nellie; and Bob Clemens and wife, Judy.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Jack Clemens and wife, Ruby.
