Barbara Jean Day, 78, of Lebanon, passed away Saturday, Dec. 16, 2006, at St. John's Hospital, Lebanon.
Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2006, at First Christian Church of Lebanon, with Rev. Glenda Melson and Pat Day officiating. Burial will be in Mount Rose Memorial Park in Lebanon. Visitation will be 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. A memorial to the Hermitage Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund has been established and contributions may be made through Holman-Howe Funeral Home, P. O. Box 28, Lebanon, MO 65536
On May 29, 1948, she was united in marriage to William Edward "Ed" Day, who preceded her in death on Jan. 9, 2003. She and Ed were co-owners and operators of B & D Truck Port & Restaurant and B & D Oil and Propane Co. in Lebanon for many years. Barbara was also a devoted homemaker and loving mother to their four children. She was a longtime active member of First Christian Church in Lebanon, and belonged to several card clubs.
She is survived by two sons, Mike Day and his wife, Debi, of Lebanon, and Patrick Day and his wife, Lori, of Springfield; two daughters, Barbara Dampier of Lebanon, and Mary Catherine Scott and her husband, Dave, of Marshall; 11 grandchildren: Kimberly Dampier; William Dampier; Christopher Day and his wife, Melissa; Sarah McComas and her husband, Shane; Jacob Day and his wife, Brittany; Kayla, Scott, and Nick Day; Alex, Brian, and Laura Scott; four great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Madalyn Ovens, of Hermitage; several nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Harrell "Bud" McCain, and a sister, Charlene Powell.
