Doris Jean Lyon, 79, of Marshall, died Saturday, Dec. 16, 2006, at Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2006, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall. William W. Harlow will officiate. Visitation will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Sunset Gardens Cemetery in Marshall. Pallbearers will be Matt Lyon, Corey Lyon, Jacob Forbes, Gary Lyon, Terry Kendrick and Randall Forbes. Born Oct. 21, 1927, in Wakenda, she was the daughter of the late Floyd Bock and Velma Winfrey Bock. On Jan. 21, 1948, in Kearney, she married Gerald Armon Lyon, who preceded her in death on Sept. 9, 1999. She had lived in Marshall since 1962 and attended Gill Memorial Baptist Church.
Survivors include three sons, Terry G. Lyon and wife, Donna, of Marshall, Max S. Lyon and wife, Sharon, of Marshall and Danny A. Lyon and wife, Linda, of rural Marshall; two daughters, Cathie L. Forbes and husband, Randall, of Alma, and Connie S. Kendrick and husband, Terry, of Carrollton; 13 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Ted Bock of Sweet Springs; one sister, Patricia Barnett of Lebanon; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Gary A. Lyon, one daughter in infancy, Beth Ann Lyon, and one brother, Doyle Bock.
