Nell Odell, 94, of Marshall, died Friday, Dec. 15, 2006, at The Living Center in Marshall.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2006, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall. Rev. David R. VanHorn will officiate. Jan Hinnah will be the pianist. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall. Pallbearers will be Jim Humburg, Dale Hinnah, Gilbert Bohmann, Jerry Kirby, Carl Shoberg and Mitchell Bohmann. Memorials may be made to New Salem Baptist Church or the American Diabetes Association.
Born April 12, 1912, in Arrow Rock, she was the daughter of the late Will Humburg and Emma Heuman Humburg. On Oct. 30, 1937, she married Earl C. Odell, who preceded her in death on Sept. 22, 1983. She had lived in Marshall most of her life, and had worked at Bange's and Dolly's Fabrics. She was a member of Zion United Church of Christ in Arrow Rock.
Survivors include one daughter, Mary Rayl of Marshall; three grandchildren, Cindy Kirby, Terri Bohmann and Diane Cornine; six great-grandchildren, Tabitha Burton, Christy Bohmann, Mitchell Bohmann, Jessica Owens, Jennifer Cornine and Joe Shoberg; two great-great-grandchildren, Haylie Burton and Layton Owens; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, Rolla Humburg; and three sisters, Leodie Humburg, Mae Hinnah and Cora Joerling
