Claudine Wheeler, 96, formerly of Gallatin and Marshall, died Monday, Dec. 11, 2006, at Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 17, 2006, at McWilliams Funeral Home in Gallatin. Visitation will be held after 11 a.m. Saturday, and for one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Hillcrest Cemetery near Gallatin. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Fitzgibbon Hospital Cancer Fund.
She was born March 5, 1910, to B. F. and Virgie (Ramsbottom) Kissinger in Gallatin. She graduated from Gallatin High School in 1928. On Nov. 16, 1929, she married Wilson Wheeler, who preceded her in death in 1968. They lived in Kansas City where she worked at the Lake City Arsenal during World War II. She also worked for Kansas City Public Service as a secretary. In 1947, they moved to Van Nuys, Calif., where she was employed at the Purolator Company, retiring in 1975. In 1980 she moved back to Gallatin to be near her family and friends. Claudine was a member of the Daviess County Extension Club and was secretary of the Daviess County OATS. She was a member of the Cameron Restoration Branch of the Church of Jesus Christ.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, John Kissinger and Harry Kissinger; and sisters, Frankie Brinnon and Virginia Gann.
She is survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.
