Betty J. Hinton Kreisel, 74, of rural Rocheport, died Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2006, at The Bluffs in Columbia.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 9, 2006, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall. Rev. Mel Lantz will officiate. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall. Memorials may be made to the new Alzheimer's Unit at The Bluffs, 3105 Bluff Creek Dr., Columbia, MO 65201.
Born June 28, 1932, near Napton, she was the daughter of the late Enoch H. Hinton and Mabel Niceley Hinton. On July 3, 1955, in Napton, she married Eldon Kreisel, who survives of the home. She had lived in rural Rocheport since 1960. She was a graduate of Marshall High School and Missouri Valley College. She was a retired school teacher having taught 30 years, 25 of those years at Midway Elementary School. She was a member of the Missouri State Teachers Association and Woodlandville Extension Club. She was also a member of the First Baptist Church in Boonville, a member of WMU and taught Sunday school for more than 50 years.
She is also survived by two daughters, Susan Lynn Kreisel Wright of Harrisburg and Ann Kreisel Garrison of Olathe, Kan.; three grandchildren; two sisters, Anna Belle Krager of Columbia and Irene "Pete" Metzger of San Jose, Calif.; one brother, Robert "Bob" Hinton of Windsor; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one granddaughter; three sisters, Violet Page, Helen Lecus and Edna Marks; and one brother, Bill Hinton.
