William E. "Bill" Treece, 90, of Windsor, formerly of Marshall, died Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2006, at Windsor Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, Windsor.
Funeral services will be Saturday, Dec. 2, 2006, at 2 p.m. at the Hadley Funeral Home, Windsor, with Rev. Elmer Brown officiating. Burial will be in the Hickory Point Cemetery, rural Green Ridge. Visitation will be held Friday from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. The family suggests contributions to the Hickory Point Cemetery, in care of the funeral home. He was born June 5, 1916, in Cuba, the son of Herbert Henry Treece and Minnie Belle Dueker Treece. On June 24, 1939, in Chamois, he married Elsie Marie Treece, who preceded him in death on March 29, 1994. He was a farmer, and self-employed for over 20 years, owning and operating a gasoline filling station, where he also did welding and mechanical work on cars and trucks.
Survivors include a son, Vernon Treece of Windsor; two daughters, Jeana Eckhoff of Cole Camp and Billie Wheeler of Elsberry; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a brother, Clint Treece of Rackett; a sister Anna LouBelle Welliver of Windsor; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Clarence Treece, Louis Treece and Walter Treece.
