Mary E. Cassiday, 99, of Marshall, died Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2006, at Big Bend Retreat in Slater.
Graveside services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 17, 2006, at Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall. Rev. James C. Long will officiate. Memorials may be made to Covenant Presbyterian Church c/o Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall.
Born March 14, 1907, in Oswego, Kan., she was the daughter of the late Fred Doane and Stella Barlow Doane. She was a 1926 graduate of Joplin High School, a 1930 graduate of Missouri Valley College in Marshall and did postgraduate work at University of Missouri-Columbia. On Dec. 25, 1935, in Bary, she married Raymond B. Cassiday, who preceded her in death on Nov. 5, 1991. She had lived in Marshall since 1925 and was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church. She and her husband owned and operated Marshall Laundry and Dry Cleaning for many years.
Survivors include her son-in-law, Jim Stone of The Villages, Fla., and one grandson, Todd Stone of Cape Coral, Fla.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Jane Cassiday Stone, and one sister, Dorothy Morgey.
