Robert Lee Woods, 62, of Marshall, died Monday, Nov. 13, 2006, at Fitzgibbon Hospital, Marshall.
Cremation. Funeral services will be held Friday, Nov. 17, 2006, at 1 p.m. at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Marshall. Pastor I.B.S. Groves Jr. will officiate. Sister Lois Laster and Tina Brown will provide music. Green Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
He was born Aug. 1, 1944, in Kansas City, the son of Mary Woods Harris and Harold Washington. He married Diane McGrudder. He was a lifetime resident of Saline County. He lettered two years in varsity football for Marshall High School and received All-District Honorable Mention as a sophomore wingback and a junior halfback. He worked as a custodian and car detailer.
He is survived by two daughters, Robette Jones of Marshall and Candice Woods of Hot Springs, Ark.; one son, Rodney Henderson of Marshall; nine grandchildren; five sisters, Darlene Ritter of Marshall, Banetta Baylark of Marshall, Betty Harrell of Marshall, Carolyn Ann Harris of Paris and Tina Brown of Kansas City; five brothers, Allen Harris of Marshall, Frank Harris of Marshall, Homer Harris of Marshall, Danny Joe Harris of Columbia and Billy Harris of Columbia.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
