Gladys Jansen, 80, of rural Sweet Springs, died Thursday, Nov. 2, 2006, at Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2006, at the First Baptist Church in Sweet Springs. Rev. Charles R. Ahlemann will officiate. Friends may call after 4 p.m. Monday at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Sweet Springs with visitation following from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Sweet Springs. Memorials may be made to family choice.
Born July 8, 1926, in Saline County, she was the daughter of the late Austin Smith and Beulah Steele Smith. On June 10, 1948, she married Orval Jansen who preceded her in death on March 20, 2002. She had lived in the Sweet Springs area her entire life and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Sweet Springs.
Survivors include two sons, Wayne A. Jansen of Sweet Springs and Daniel Jansen of Malta Bend; two daughters, Darlene E. Jansen of Sweet Springs and Joyce Harris of rural Sweet Springs; 15 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two daughters-in-law; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, Charles Jansen and Robert Lee Jansen, and one brother, Thomas Smith.
