Marvin L. Miller, 73, of Yankton, S.D., died Thursday, Oct. 26, 2006, at Avera Sacred Heart Hospital in Yankton.
No local services will be held. Arrangements are under the direction of the Wintz and Ray Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Yankton. He was born April 9, 1933, in Albany, to Alvin and Dorothy (Smith) Miller. In 1954, he married Erma Eastman in Kansas City. He graduated from Missouri Valley College in 1956 and then went to work for the Boy Scouts of America in Des Moines, Iowa. He lived in Denver, Colo., Scottsbluff, Neb., and Casper, Wyo., before settling in Yankton. After his time with the Boy Scouts, he was a New York Life insurance agent and then a charter pilot and instructor for Falcon Aviation.
He is survived by his wife, Erma Miller, of Yankton, S.D.; mother, Dorothy Reynolds of Springfield; and daughter Linda Matthys of Ramona, Calif.
He was preceded in death by his father, Alvin Miller, and a son, Travis Miller, in 1990.
