Alice P. Kolkmeyer, 72, of Slater, died Sunday, Oct. 22, 2006, at Fitzgibbon Hospital.
Graveside services will be Thursday, Oct. 26, at 11 a.m. at the Slater City cemetery. Rev. Robert Sisney will officiate. Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday Oct. 25, at Weiker Funeral Home in Slater. Memorials are suggested to the American Diabetes Association or to Cancer Research.
Born Aug. 3, 1934, in Napoleon, she was the daughter of the late Marion and Mildred Adkins Swigart. On June 2, 1951, in Wellington, she married Roland H. Kolkmeyer and he preceded her in death March 2, 2006.
She was a member of the St. Lukes United Church of Christ in Wellington. She was employed for many years as a dispatcher with the city of Slater.
She is survived by a son, Ronald Kolkmeyer of rural Slater; two daughters, Kathy McGuire of Marshall and Paula Pollard of Slater; four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and two sisters, Betty Ann Kleuver of Independence and Myrel Giffen of Holden. She was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
